what made you get into anime?

Akira and Sailor Moon were the first but Dragonball Z was the one that really got me into it.

I remember watching Pokemon and dragon ball, even one piece later on and thinking, these shows are more entertaining and better put together then most live action films, so I was hooked. Always loved cartoons and anime, still do, the more stupid, messed-up and dangerous it is the better, though I still need some degree of realisim.
Cause I live in Aussie, everything comes out alot later so I'm not able to watch them on Tv.

Still I can't seem to get enough of them, especially the stuff for older people.
P.S. In Aussie there was no anime, it was all called cartoons, no matter what, so it was hard to tell what was and wasn't at first (i swear i can tell the difference).

When i was a kid i was watching dragon ball and after i finished all the seasons ... i logged on the internet and searched for more anime.

I have been watching animes since I was a kid but that was just for entertainment. I really got into anime after I saw 5cm per Second and first season of Bleach where it was still great.

i was taking fun at my classmates tellin them "what a bunch of losers!!!! ur 19 n ur still watching these stuff!!!" but one of them gave me Blood+ n asked me to watch it to the end n give him my opinion later...
i watched the 1st episode, the 2nd, the 3rd... the 12th... n since then i became an anime fan ))
its been 3yrs now since i watch regularly....

I was a comic book kid. Taught myself to read with an older sisters help so I didn't have to wait for someone to read to me. But over the years I kept seeing areas that comics in the US either wouldn't address or ignored. I saw Project A-ko which hinted that A-ko was the daughter of Wonder Woman and Superman and was lost, lost to a world of big eyed, multi-colored hair wearing females who had boobs that moved when they did.... Thus my slide into old age began....

I got into anime almost purely by accident. I was simply channel surfing then I saw sailormoon being played on a Spanish channel. Ever since then I've been a fan of magic girls who fight evil in short short skirts...and anime.
