what made you get into anime? - FTP-Anime Forums

I used to make fun of this one kid in high school but for some reason i went on the internet oh yeah it was for naruto shippuden. i wanted to check it out and before you know it, i was checking out almost all anime and i never stopped. so how do you guys/girls get into anime?

My brother got me into anime

he started watching it on tv and i joined him but

it was a hentai so i was totally put off anime becus i thought that was what all anime was like

but then he got Chobits and Full Metal Panic and i was hooked hehe

now anime is my life

A friend turned me on to the first berserk manga. I saw Gutz swing a giant sword with his teeth and that was it for me. I've been loving it ever since.

I always enjoyed watching dbz and pokemon etc when I was younger but I didn't really get into it until my senior year of high school. I had just broken my right arm and could not participate in what was supposed to be our best basketball season, so my friend lent me a bunch of anime dvds to watch while I recovered. Some of the titles I can remember are Rurouni Kenshin, Suzuka, X, Green Green, School Rumble, and Love Hina.

Got sick of Hollywood and stuff...looked for an alternative...found animes....lifes got entertainment once again....

for me it's only two words 'dragon ball'
although after that my taste is not dragon ball-ish at all

Dragonball here for me too. Used to watch it on cartoon network. Liked the style, then feverishly stumbled from one thing to then next, before you knoew it I was reading through Osamu Tezuka's entire library of work and devouring every anime I could watch.

Hmmmm.... What made me get into anime huh...

I'm not really sure actually.
I know that I used to watch some when I was a kid but that is about all I can remember about it.

I guess it is probably because there are so many different stories and ideas and all kinds of things that can't happen in real life are made to seem more normal. I kinda like that idea. The bit of fantasy and all.

Then again I like the ones that are just like real life too... I guess I can't really say what it was that made me get into anime then.
