I see this is for an anime club. Then you're going to need a mixture of diff(broke forum rule) animes:

Action: Fist of the North Star
Sex: There's a new one called Hatsu Inu, it's pretty funny
Slice of Life: Azumangadaioh
Horror: Go with a classic, Hellsing
Adventure: Slayers is ok for awhile, but it gets pretty longwinded

When I went to a meeting of my college's anime club. It was a bunch of cupcake anime and that kind that's supposed to appeal to girls(with the effeminate, cute guys). Because of that, I never went back.

Hellsing is okay. You could also go for Gantz or Elfen Lied.

Hatsu Inu is about a strange girl who likes...mechanical cucumbers(if you catch my drift) and doesn't talk. She falls for a guy who makes her choose between him and her many Steely Dan's.

As for the others, We've showed azumnaga diaoh already, hellsing was shown. We tried Last Exile, the club hated it >.> Serial expirements lame, i want to show it, but then again I've heard that it's a tad bit over the top We tried showing slayers, but it was against El Hazard for action anime and was shot down. And as for Fist of the North Star (great old skool action btw) we showed that before.

Just to let you know we are currently showing:
Dennou Coil
Guu! (Don't know the full title)
Black Lagoon

And i've been trying to show Shana for a year now but it always gets shot down because it versus sutch shows as black lagoon and Gurren Laggen, argggg....
