wats there to explain?? it was terrible,horrible,insane!!!!!!!!!it nearly killed me

Each story is an examination of a society from an impartial view.
The shows give an independent overview of the way people act in there own local social groups.
It is a thoughtful examination of an extreme example of the each of the types of social groups.
Granted it is not a big shoot-em-up, there is some violence and it is wonderfully done, if want that watch Gundam.
In the second show ,"A Tale of Feeding Off Others", Kino repeatedly thinks about the fact that she has to take the life of rabbits to help keep alive the three others that have been stranded because of an early snow that had
stranded them in the snow.
The show has a very Buddhist outlook on the world.

For what age[s] is this anime intended?

The series is not for little kids.
Each show has some violence and there is fighting and death, but it is not over the top and excessive or gory.
I would not let a child of under ten watch them and under twelve I would have to watch it with them to stop and explain some of the more esoteric concepts as they happen so they could fully understand why the people are doing and acting as they do in those situations.
No sexual situations.
