Adaption of the amateur created murder mystery computer game Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni developed by the studio 7th Expansion. Studio Deen will produce the animation.

Every year, on a fixed day of June, one person dies and one person disappears in Hanamizawa Village. It is a death chain from the fight related to a big dam construction plan. The incident that was hidden in the middle of Showa revives.
On one hot summer day in 1983, a transfer student named Maebara Keiichi comes to a peaceful rural village in Hinamizawa. There, he befriends his classmates Rena, Mion, Rika, and Satoko. Accepted as a full-fledged member of the "club," Keiichi and the gang plays all sorts of activities ranging from card and board games to hide-and-seek. People will remember that THIS was how playing used to be before the advent of video games. But just as Keiichi was beginning to be assimilated in simple rural life, he stumbles upon the dark history of Hinamizawa. Dam contruction project. Violent demonstrations. Kidnapping and extortion. ARM-AND-LEG DISMEMBERMENT MURDER. As Keiichi dives deeper into the mystery, he finds that his new found friends may not be all what they claim to be.

This anime is probably the most wicked anime pos Elfen Lied, and u will have to watch it to know why.
The 4 girls appear to be innocent and lovely, but there’s something else, an entity Oyashiro-Sama, it seams it has taken over the girls body and made them cold blood and silent assassins, these lovely girls are smiling one moment and then completely change into a fearsome psychopath, the great animation and character design allow them to cause fear to the viewer.
They start following Keiichi driving him mad, they put needles on the ohagi (rice balls covered with sweet seeds of sesame), latter, he is attacked by a few men’s, Rena and Mion take him over to his room, and slight after they try to inject him some unknown substance, the same who killed the last victim of Oyashiro-Sama, he gets mad an kills the two girls with the bat, a moment of slaughter, later he runs from home, but is caught by Oyashiro-Sama and kills himself…
