| This is a hard one... I really like Linux UbuntuStudio... I have it on a Pentium3 PC I built specifically to run Linux out of 2 older computers I had lying around, and I have it installed on an old Acer Ferarri 4000 laptop. It comes with all the goodies you need for 2d&3d graphics, film editing, and audio production/editing. Has Gimp, Scribus, Inkscape, Audacity, a lot of good stuff! AND< it still runs smooth on an older machine, lol! Only thing is, there's a lot of stuff I like that needs Windows, as well.... I PREFER the ease and smaller footprint of Windows 7. That being said, you also need a decent machine to take full advantage of everything that Windows 7 has to offer. The security features are nice too, but can be a real pain in the arse to work around. If you need to clear out a virus, your AV program doesn't work all that fantastic unless you go into the control panel and turn off Administrator manually... the thing is, you also need to remember to turn it back on again, because it is NOT automatic, and the next time you boot your system, it will still be turned off unless you remember to turn it on! That being said, I prefer the simplicity of XP, and that all the service packs have already been written for it.... So, really..I like all 3, have used all 3, but currently use UbuntuStudio and XP.

| favorite is definitely XP, heard 7 is good but haven't played around with it enough to judge. used some linux for fun, the problem with linux is you can't do anything without memorizing the structure of the file system and the scripts, so noobs without internet trying to use linux will get raped by the complexity. |

| Win 7 was good, until I had that "consider replacing your battery" shit error (which I shouldn't be getting because my PC is pretty much plugged in all day) and began shutting down multiple times, so I began to try Win 8. Yeah, that's right, Win 8!

| my first favorite OS is WinME because of the logo. LoL.. but then it came XP.. the ui was very good at that time and i was obsessed of customizing it. i was able to customize the logo, the desktop, etc that suits my mood that's why XP is the best. until it came windows 7. oh my, i can see my desktop in a minute.... that was FAAAASSSTTT!! plus there's a chess game.. my favorite board game... so far i never encounter any problem with 7.. its way tooo coooolllllll... |

| Hmm Windows2000 was the best for me, since it was very stable (some experts say superior to XP) from that point on I more dislike the new OS from Windows... new features that I won't use and many ways are changed of "how to" something is setup and stuff... so I always need time to figure that out, mehhh As for me they can keep their new stuff don't want it... I finally switched to XP not so long ago simply as it couldn't be avoided when it comes to certain software/hardware setting the newer stuff won't work with Win2000.... it won't take that long and XP will see the same fate HAHA.
