What is your fav OS? - FTP-Anime Forums

Yo I'm curious about a thing...
Which OS do you use as fav one...
When it comes to Linux/Unix plz tell me which distro and which Windowmanager..

Well for me it is mainly Debian/etch with KDE (mostly I use the console)
and sometimes (I wish I didn't have to) I use XP, for gaming, FLStudio and several other appz...

So what about you guys eh?

Ubuntu with Gnome, but sometimes I also use Windows XP for gaming and photoshop.

I like FreeBSD its not linux, Mac OS or windows. Its totally different.

I use Win for games and coding tho

hm bsd ...never used it before . What's it like ? Do you have a winmanager, or is it pure console ?
I heard it's also "based on/similar to" unix. What is different and are there similarities to Linux?
I'm really interested in your expirences with it.

I considered Linux, but when I saw all the tweaking I had to do to get VLC to run, I ran in fear.

So you use ubuntu and relating to the screenshot of your desktop I presume that your winman is Gnome.

Yeah BSD was based on Unix, but that was a long time ago. I just wanted to make it clear.
I guess it's not that much similar to unix anymore, though I must admit that I never used bsd before.
Hm, but it seems like linux is also far from being a unix based kernel it comes from sth. called minix, which is a unix based...maybe uhm

or you can install it by going to your applications list and simply select it and click install...
