Panasonic DMR-EZ28 - FTP-Anime Forums

Just got the above DVR it has a USB port for access thumb drives and such.
Has anybody tried to set up an external DVR Player as an external recorder or display converter for getting OGM, MKV and other non-standard video formats off the computer and on to a standard DVD Format disk that I could take to other peoples homes.
Any help and information that others have would be greatly appreciated.

Has anybody used one of the newer standard DVD recorders, that have a USB port, as an external recorder from a PC source.
I have had little luck converting OGM, MKV and other non-standard video formats for viewing on a standard DVD player.
I was hoping to use the USB port to transfer the video to the recorder.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I have no experience with that, so I'm hoping someone else can help you with that.

You can try streaming the mkv or ogm and convert it into an avi file. From there you can convert the avi file into a vob file and maybe you could then burn it into dvd format.

Use VLC for the streaming, then WinAVI for the conversion.

Or VirtualDubMod instead of WinAvi

Yeah I guess you could use VrtualDub, but only if you had the right codecs.

No she/he can't, since VD doesn't supports *.mkv files. Instead of that, VDM supports mkv container v 1, which is enough I think.

So bottom line X. When this person converts the mkv in somthing like vob files, how do they make them readable to a standard DVD player?
