What kind of system...

I'm building a new Frankenstein monster, and I need some ideas. Plop down your rig specs and let's see what's out there.

I'm getting

MSI K9A2 motherboard.
AMD Athlon X2 6400+ black processor 3.2GHz
OCZ DDR2 1066MHz Reaper Ram 4GB
WD 750GB SATA drive
Two Samsung DL-DVD SATA burners
550W Antec power saving quiet Pwr supply
A BenQ 20" Widescreen monitor
A Dell 22" Wide screen monitor

The only thing I haven't gotten is the video card. I want a Diamond Viper HD 3870 X2 1GB card, but I don't want to pay $350 to get it.

I also need ideas for a sound card, ergo keyboard, and trackball mouse.

So feel free to advise, thanks in advance.

At first:
What OS will U be using? (I read taht 32 bit system cannot handle more than 3 GB of memory(RAM))

Second:
Very good choice, but I read a review here about FPS games(just games) and hardware requirements for them (it's in Czech, so U wont understand probably, but just look at the graphs and tables, that will help a lot)

Third:
About peripherals: I am going to buy this whole set. It's a bit expensive (for me sure) but it looks good and due to info, it is good.

btw. doesn't that MB have included soundcard?

1. WinXP, and it can handle up to 4GB of RAM, however someday I will switch to Vista, and hopefully a 64-bit OS to make full use of a quad core. The motherboard on the new system handles quad-core processors.

2. Don't read Czech, but damn do they have some hot chicks.
3. Yes the board has an included soundcard, but after the nightmares of software driven soundcards, I want a hardware driven card.

Thanks for your suggestions, but what are you running? OS and hardware?

Win XP 32bit

MSI KT600 -V, AMD Barton 2500+, 512MB RAM, Asus GeForce 6200GE, and I got two disks... 1st S-ATA 200GB full of anime broke, so now only 80GB E-IDE.

I told U just read the tables and graphs. There are just names and performances.

Yup, I am going to upgrade ASAP. But I think, Athlon 5000+ BE is just enough for the things I am doing(even for the games). And I wait a bit longer, until new ATI 4850 comes out(and 3870 gets cheaper )

Yeah same here, pretty much waiting to put the rest together. As for the windows thing, 3.2GB ram limit that I can see, oh well, someday...

It's a computer, and a good one at that. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't be able to afford it but I get a lot of second hand parts from work. Also, if you're interested in finding out what such a rig would cost straight from (way overpriced) Apple. The Apple Store (U.S.)
I rarely buy anything straight from apple these days, since I can find most components half price elsewhere.
