| Got mkv merge, I needed it when I got the entire run of Urusei Yatsura, works great as long as the idx and sub files are good.

| I've used VOBtool 0.0.6 for awhile now. You can find it at Download VOB Tool 0.0.6 - A tool for analyzing, joining and deleting segments from VOB files - Softpedia. If that link doesn't work - let me know - I can email the file to you - or is there a place to upload it to on this site? It also opens .VRO files [fom DVD-RAM movies]. It's been awile since I used it, but I think it saves to avi or mpg format. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Oops! It saves in the vob format and didn't work on my "Stargate" dvd. It is working on a dvd I made though. If I remember right [this is getting scary] you can rename the extention to ".mpg". -------------------------------------------------------------------- Yup. I renamed the file with the ".mpg" extention and it played fine in JetAudio, Power DVD 5.? - not so good in windows media player [it streched it]. So you can extract vob to vob to mpg with homemade dvds or dvd-ram discs with this tool. Last edited by TheWolf; 25-03-2009 at 02:34 AM. |

| Thanks, Mr. Dawes, I'll check it out. Don't bother leaving it on the site for me, I may not be here much longer.

| It would be no problem to send it to you, Mr. brokenhands. The file is 236Kb and you just drop it anywhere on the computer to use it [no install]. I'll look to see if I can upload it for anyone anyway. It's freeware. Sad to hear you may leave [sniffs armpits for odor check...] |

| I'm using VOBtool right now with AnyDVD running [from SlySoft - disables protection] and I am able to extract the files of my "Stargate" dvd to my HD. Of course the AnyDVD is bought software [I bought all of SlySoft's software - CloneCD, CloneDVD, AnyDVD, and GameJackal], but I think there's a 30 day trial period on all thier software. |

| Yeah well, it was fun while it lasted. I didn't know anyone watched Stargate SG-1. I watched the first three seasons when it was on showtime, but couldn't keep up with it after that. I think netflix may add more seasons on instant viewing, maybe it's time to play catch up.

| Catch up on SG-1! Gasp!?! All seasons are a MUST SEE. And in this brave new world you can get it for $146.99 [shipped free] @ Amazom [Amazon.com: Stargate SG-1 - The Complete Series Collection: Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Don S. Davis, Gary Jones, Teryl Rothery, Dan Shea, Ben Browder, Beau Bridges, Claudia Black, Corin Nemec, Kevin Will]. No affiliation, BTW. Much less than I paid for the 10 seasons [$14.70 per season!?! Wow.]. By the way, there was no distinctive odor from the pits, so I'm assuming that your possible exit from FTP-Anime isn't my fault. Found some Anime movies late night on Encore channels I recorded to check out later. I'm hopeful they'll be OK for my delicate tastes, but not expecting it. Did you want the VOBtool? I know you said no before, but I thought maybe you had a change of mind ... and is there a place here that I can upload it to for others? Last edited by TheWolf; 25-03-2009 at 08:38 PM. |

The link is dead and I didn't find it anywhere else on the net [altho I didn't look THAT hard]. Ergo - the offer of upload... Last edited by TheWolf; 25-03-2009 at 08:53 PM. | |

| Try Mediacoder: MediaCoder - more than a universal audio/video transcoder It can decode/encode just about anything. It bundles a ton of command line decoders/encoders into one gui, so you just set a bunch of options and it does the long command line input for u. Although, you have to understand codecs and containers and various other video stuff pretty well in order to use it otherwise it's pretty confusing. But it's good overall. if u didn't fix the problem already |
