| Thanks, I finally wound up using Avidemux. My new problem is I have a high-def mkv file, that uses a newfangled video codec. I was able to convert the file from mkv to avi, but I lost the sound in the process. I'll just keep tinkering till I get it right, but thanks for all your suggestions.

| H264(MPEG-4) format. But it's in high-def. I once had the same problem with the new One Piece episodes by Kaizoku fansubs, but VLC played them fine.

| The def isn't the issue as long as it'đ supported with codec. But if the codec is supported by the encoding program you use, that is a different question... |

| I was using avidemux. It seemed to work, but I lost the audio. I think I just didn't configure it right. Problem is the video is 8GB, and it takes a long time to encode.
