Really? I think SA looked pretty good actually. Maybe not as much improved within the GTA games, but you have to admit it looked much better than most other games back then. Especially looking at the size of the game.

Nah it didn't really look better than ViceCity
And the PS2 was too weak to render it fast enough,
so you could see the picture being slowly constructed in the background, while driving,walking,etc around.
Why didn't they produce the engine based on the newest present computer technology?

The game could have been much better then... no really ps2 sucks and pc rulez
no offense to you hardcore console junkies

By the way, when was its release? I don't really remember

I agree PC is the best platform for GTA Series. I really wait GTA 4 it looks so nice and I've really waited it. Hopefully it'll fulfil my expectationsl If I only had HDTV... Maybe I could be called GTA fanboy... I'm not sure though.There are so many fun things I like too. Like anime.

The reason you can't GTA great looking is that your PC won't be able to handle it. Since it makes use of gigantic maps

The map in GTA IV will be smaller than in SA. But it does look much more realistic

The ridiculous quality of the GTA games has not changed since GTA III. I played every single one, from 1 to San Andreas, and I was surprised the graphics never changed. Vice City had a better plot line than SA as well. However, taking all things into consideration, GTA IV might finally do the graphics some justice. At least lets hope.

True, true. But GTA IV looks pretty sweet in the trailers.
Even though the graphics haven't changed drastically, I still think GTA is ahead of many other games when it comes to story, map design, graphics, everything else.

I think changing the graphics won't always work. Gameplay has more importance than graphics
