what about winged horses. they could be reserved for the nobility. however, with the advent of war, breeding was stepped up so that every fighter or other support could have one. however, only pure colored horses could belong to the nobility (ie a gold horse = nobility, black/white horse commoner)

we could also take a note from avatar the last airbender and create new creatures from a mix of two different animals (ie monkey-fish, parrot-dog, bison-butterfly)

Yes i will paint by hand sitting outside when its not raining and draw something and scan it into the computer.

Crabs in rainforest's is little hard but if they would be there they would not be small but big ones...
Winged horse in that area... no, but dragon like ones perhaps, big bugs xD

Ok first of all as for floating links....... Hell Yeah
Secondly I agree with the dragon idea since they would help the Lost Continent (TLC as Ill be referring to it from now on) have a fighting chance against the magic infused baddies
Also since I Imagine the the Floating links will be invading TLC they should have a mode of flight as well (Preferably something weak like giant birds) Plus it opens the door to aerial combat

BTW Meri Congratz on the Green I'd love to be a mod here but I have serious time issues

Alright if I go by the ruff picture from meri then I could probobly draw something out of it.
But ofc I need to have more information on what to have on the island such as animals and so on, since iam planning to draw some of them in so they look fitting to that area.

But I say the northern forest(the one on the big island to the right) would be the main Forrest with a smaller mountain of it's own where the more nature loving creature stay at, such as Forrest dragons(smaller version but more agile then the bigger ones) and weird insekts also perhaps some ppl who live in the Forrest, and then to the mountain in the middle I would say that there lives the bigger dragons and other lizzards and they are more viceus(angry and hateful creature) then the rest are on any island or Forrest.
Perhaps trolls shall exist, but I agree that some "rare" animals like unicorns or horses with wings shall exist betwen the forrests and mountain where grass ond such exists.

But I want a more ruff version before I start drawing, And I also wanna know if any island shall be flying due to the magic that exists I'm that continent.

About the big bugs, as long as they don't include spiders I'm in
Some other forrest creatures that come to mind:
black jaguars, snakes, ...

BTW: the crabs are found on the beach
and unless you train them, they don't really have any special ability other than being cute
