I would prefer (but im only one person) for stuff to be written in romanji and also for a translation to be written along with that, so that I actually know what is being said and in addition so I can learn what the proper response is.

Actually this points out a "problem" with writing it in romanji instead of kana.

If you write the above sentence into kana it is correct but the "ha" (は) is actually pronounced "wa".
So it should be "sabuzero-san wa nansai desu ka?" although it's written like this: "サブゼロさんはなんさいですか。"

Same with こんにちは / konnichiwa and douzo which is pronounced as "doozo". So SubZero, do you prefer we write it in romanji or we write it the way it is spoken.

EDIT: Ok, it's not so much a problem since the problem occurs in romanji as well in kana. It's just a exception/rule you have to know :p.
EDIT2: It actually is about the difference between the pronouciation and the way it is written. It has nothing to with a difference between romanji and kana. Lol, I would so suck at teaching :p.

And about the kanji... to be honest I don't now any yet. I'm close to learning my first few but like I said in the other thread, I'm slow at learning languages. I'm not very far in Japanese at all to be honest (introducing myself is about it at the moment).

What does "oikutsu" mean? [it wasnt in my dictionary. I couldn't find it on google TL either]

There are many different systems/conventions for romaji. I just use the one that you'd write like when you're writing hiragana/katakana on the comp. I know は is pronounced as wa and を as o, but I'll most like just write ha and wo instead.

As for the kanji, I'll try to keep it to a minimum then.

So "oikutsu desu ka?" is the same as "nansai desu ka?".

If you googled "oikutsu desu ka" the first hit would have showed you that lol :p. Anyway, my book mentioned it in a sidenote but other then that I don't even now what the difference in usage is (impolite <> polite etc.).

Last week school started so I was busy with configurating my laptop and determining my schedule. Unfortunately I didn't had time or was in the mood to study any Japanese. But tomorrow is the beginning of a new week and everything is settled so I am planning to resume my study of Japanese again.
