I don't want to make the site too restrictive, but we seem to have a disturbing new trend forming.

We got folks coming into the intro section, asking for stuff.

Can we make a rule, you can't download unless you make a proper intro, or is that a tad too Draconian?

Yes that is a bit overdone. Downloads cannot be restricted just to force people to make an intro. I cannot see what difference it would make if we required intro's because its the same either way. It wont get us any further forward and it will only agitate people who are already here. Remember, we are not the only ones who host great anime, and people can always get their business elsewhere. Capitalism is a dirty business.

Just thinking of the old days in BJJ when you had to have at least one rep point to download. And the way they got an easy rep point was to do one post, which was usually an intro.

Yeah, but then again its not too difficult to make an intro to be able to download and then never post again. The aim is to invoke interest in the forum, not to force people to keep posting so they can download. It would be hypocritical.
