Hi since las time you tell me if there is a program that i could put a review and now it's my time

present you Fast Dial 2.22b (a FireFox add-on)

ok just search it in the add-ons page, install and yeah!!!! its working
i just get bored of the normal bookmarks...


so i tried something more interesting, and found this one, i installed previous version, but since not much to do... i didn't use them much until this new version...
(ok i did this since i like black themes not things to shiny....)
the funcionality is the same, just some other beautiful graphic enhances they put...(more of what i was looking for)

this is the default visuals they put....

not the fancy one, but like it a lot after a few changes to it
so how it works.. and even has the google search bar for those who are addicted to it

now an explination ....

• install it
• make sure your new page of start up is blank, so each new blank tab you create it appears
• a beautiful thing is to add just like a bookmark hit the right clic and then add to Fast Dial
• ok back to other things (the visual effects i love )

• you could let the default theme (blank background) or change it.. preferences->appearance->theme.. there you could import a pic as the back ground...

• ok here i have lot of themes but by default there are just 3.
  • default
  • metalic, telegua
  • transparent, telegua (i think)...
• this is an example of other background..
• to change the col and row its in preferences->general ... quantity cols x rows
• you can change the border and tittle color, width, etc. in preferences->appearance ... thumbnail - tittle
• OHH !!! i forgot, you could change the view of the page and put instead a logo... (i prefer the transparent logos )
  • NOTE: some of this logos you could find in internet... some i have i made them my self .... if someone is interest they could ask and i'll UL all the logos i made
• how to change the logos and other data from the bookmark
  • first each ones has 3 button. DELETE, OPTIONS, REFRESH (the refres works better if you don't use logos, but the preview of the page, so you could see it like a normal page just smaller like in the previous pic), and this are the 3 buttons that appear in the right top corner, when you move the mouse over them
  • go to options and there you find 2 tabs GENERAL, ADVANCE, so in the advance tab you could add the logo you want
    • JUST SOME OTHER COMMENT... for now the best pictures that work like logos and for backgrounds are .png the .jpg I tried, looked a little blurry even when they were the same resolution... just don't know why
• so this are some other examples of personalize themes I have

well mish - you're right - i don't like additions to my freeware list. but that said ...

WOW!!! just for the amount of work you put into this piece of freeware ALONE makes it belong here!!

today's freeware a a small one purpose program called Desktop Lighter. i changes the brightness of the monitor easily, quickly and efficiently!

Desktop Lighter has been a LIFESAVER for me. in my disability i developed severe light sensitivety. i wear sunglasses ALL the time! but @ the computer, this can be a hassle. in comes Desktop Lighter to save my eyes!!! i just pull the slider down and VOILA!!! the brightness off my monitor is DRASTICALLY decreased.

well ... ok ... but how can Desktop Lighter help me? you ask. it you're at the computer ALL the time as i am [and i know YOU all are!] - give your eyes a rest with less glare for a little while. you late night computer users should appreciate this one!!

give Desktop Lighter a try today and you may wonder how you EVER lived without it - like me!!!

my offering today is not a piece of freeware, but a way to improve your folder management in windows. we're going to make a Windows Explorer icon on the desktop that shows ALL drives , My Documents, Control Panel, and more. this will give you access to the actual files to copy from one drive to another, delete, rename and other file related things.

also we'll place an icon for a special folder on the desktop, in my case - my folder where i keep my ISOs - called "~Virtual CDs". you can follow along with YOUR special folder[s] of choice. and while we're at it we'll make the folder show ONLY what's in the folder - not the rest of the computer. That's what Windows Explorer is for!

ok ... let's get started!!

first lets put Windows Explorer on the desktop. go to the "Start" button, then "Programs", then "Accessories", then right click on the "Windows Explorer" icon, go to "Send To" in the menu, then "Desktop (create shortcut)" and click on it. this will put a Windows Explorer icon on the desktop.

now lets make Windows Explorer show all drives and be on your "C:" drive when it opens. right click on the Windows Explorer Icon, go to "properties" in the menu and click on it. A "Windows Explorer Properties" window will open.

in the "Target:" field - type:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,/select, C:\
TYPE EXACTLY AS SEEN HERE!!! you can copy and paste the above line to do this too. then click the OK button. done. now when it opens ... vioila!

next - lets make a folder - say my "~Virtual CDs" folder show ONLY the stuff in ~Virtual CDs - not all the other stuff on the H: drive.

ok. for this one we need to double click on the Windows Explorere icon, go to the "H:" drive, right click on the "~Virtual CDs" folder, go to "Send To" in the menu, then go to "Desktop (create shortcut)" [and click on it].

now right click on the "~Virtual CDs" Icon, go to "properties" in the menu and click on it. A "~Virtual CDs Properties" window will open.

in the "Target:" field - type:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,/root, H:\~Virtual CDs
replace your folder name and drive for "H:\~Virtual CDs" - ensuring you leave off all quotation marks. this change will cause the icon to change as well, bit there is a "Change Icon" button in the properties window and you can click that and choose a standard folder icon, or search for your own icon to use for your new folder link!
then click the OK button. done. now when it opens ... vioila!
